Indonesian mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari(PBSI)

Indonesian mixed DOUBLE, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari emerged as champions of the 2024 Spain Masters.

Rinov/Pitha defeated China’s representatives, Cheng Xing/Zhang Chi in the match at the Centro Deportivo Municipal Gallur.

The title was confirmed following Rinov/Pitha played three teams with a score of 17-21, 21-12, 21-13.

“Thank God we were able to win once more. The last three years have been a test for us but we are still trying to come back once more and maybe this is God’s way today we can reach the highest podium,” said Rinov in his statement, (31/3).

Even though he was behind in the first game, Rinov admitted that he was finally able to win the second and third games. This is because they are able to appear calm and have the courage to make decisions.

He also said that with these results, the opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics is still very open.

“This title means a lot to us because the opportunity to enter the Olympics is still very open,” said Rinov.

Meanwhile, Pitha Haningtyas Mentari also said that the 2024 Spanish Masters title was very valuable for his party. He was also grateful for his achievements this time.

“We dedicate this title to the family, coaches and mixed doubles team, PBSI and everyone behind the scenes,” said Pitha.

“We just believe that everything we are fighting for will have results somehow, so keep trying while the opportunity is still given,” he added.

Pitha continued that following this championship, he will continue to focus and restore his health in order to prepare for the next tournament.

“Our task is not finished, there is still the Asian Championship to ensure tickets to the Olympics,” he concluded. (Z-8)
