THE Ministry of Defense signed a cooperation contract for the procurement of Çakir Surface-to-Surface Missiles and Sungur Air Defense Missiles with Republikorp Indonesia. The signing was carried out by the Head of the Defense Facilities Agency, Air Marshal Yusuf Jauhari, and the Founder of Republikorp, Norman Joesoef, in front of Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and Secretary of Turkish Defense Industries, Haluk Görgün, Monday (26/8).

This missile procurement cooperation is an important step in building an independent national defense industry. With this partnership, the government will not only have a strong defense industry, but also strengthen Indonesia’s position on the international defense industry stage.

In addition to signing the missile procurement cooperation, Republikorp Indonesia also signed a cooperation framework with ASELSAN and ROKETSAN.

Norman Joesoef, representing Republikorp, said that his party is very enthusiastic about cooperating with ASELSAN in the production of Remotely Guided Weapon Systems (RCWS), as well as with ROKETSAN in establishing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities and the production of missiles such as ÇAKIR, ATMACA, and HISAR.

“This cooperation will not only enhance our defense capabilities but also transfer important technology from Turkey to Indonesia, which will have a significant impact on our defense capabilities,” Norman said.

Previously, Republikorp has had a brilliant track record in establishing military equipment cooperation with major countries.

Over the past five years, Republikorp has built strategic partnerships with various global companies, including South Korea’s LIG Nex1 for missile production and technology transfer, and a Slovakian partner for the development of EVPU’s TURRA 30 turret.

These collaborations have strengthened Indonesia’s military capabilities and demonstrated Republikorp’s commitment to diversifying defense technology.

Furthermore, in Italy, Republikorp is also developing cooperation with Drass Galeazzi SRL for the assembly of mini and autonomous submarines, as well as with Fiocchi Munizioni SpA in the production of ammunition.

“Self-reliance in military defense supplies is essential to maintaining national security and a country’s sovereignty. By producing our own equipment and weapons, we can reduce dependence on other countries, prevent the risk of embargoes or sanctions, and have full control over its military technology and strategy. This allows for a faster response to threats and ensures the secrecy and security of defense technology,” Noran said.

This year, Republikorp entered a new era by starting to contribute to the defense industry manufacturing through the construction of a facility in Subang. This facility is the spearhead of innovation and sustainability in the development of modern electric weapons, ammunition, and tactical vehicles, designed to meet the needs of the TNI in the future.

With strategic partnerships and increasing investments, Indonesia is on the right track to becoming an independent and formidable defense force in the region. (Z-1)
