Indonesian men’s doubles pair, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani emerged as champions of the 2024 Spanish Masters.
In the final match at the Centro Deportivo Municipal Gallur, Madrid, Sunday (31/3), Sabar beat the Malaysian pair, Junaidi Arif/Roy King Yap.
Sabar/Reza secured the title following playing a three-game match with final scores, 21-18, 17-21 and 21-19.
In the first game, both pairs exchange points. Sabar/Reza and Arif/Roy both scored 17 points. After that, Sabar/Reza were able to finish the first game with a 21-18 win.
In the second game, Sabar/Reza often made mistakes which resulted in points for their opponents. In that game, the Malaysian pair emerged as winners with a score of 17-21.
Next, the third game, Sabar/Reza and Arif/Roy once more presented a fairly tight game. They both scored the same 19 points.
Nevertheless, Sabar/Reza were able to appear more fierce and finally won the third game with a score of 21-19. Due to this victory, Sabar/Reza emerged as men’s doubles champions in the 2024 Spanish Masters tournament. (Z-8)
