The Indonesian youth badminton team claims to be ready to hunt for achievements at the 2024 Junior Badminton World Championships in Nanchang, China, which will be held starting next week.

The team numbers that will compete for the Suhandinata Cup open this series of tournaments from 30 September to 5 October, then continue to the individual numbers on 7-13 October.

With a strength of 10 male athletes and 10 female athletes plus eight athletes who will participate as individuals plus support teams, the team left for China on Friday (27/9).

“In terms of readiness and unity, I think this team is ready to compete. From the simulation on Wednesday (25/9) you can see their high enthusiasm, performance and fighting power,” said mixed doubles coach Muhammad Rijal as reported by BetweenFriday (27/9).

“Especially in mixed doubles, we have been preparing for approximately three months. We have all taken care of a series of training from a technical, physical and health perspective. Hopefully they can give their best and get the best results too,” he added.

Men’s doubles Wahyu Agung Prasetyo/Dexter Farrell added that their preparations were good enough to face this year’s World Junior Championships.

“With the change in the scoring format to be shorter, we have to immediately focus on point by point. Reduce self-death,” said Tyo, Wahyu Agung Prasetyo’s nickname.

“We definitely want to always give our best for the team. We will try our best to contribute points,” added Dexter.

In line with Wahyu/Dexter, women’s doubles Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine also said they were ready to play match after match at the World Junior Championships.
