The Indonesian badminton team started training on Monday (19/8) afternoon at the Yokohama Arena, Yokohama, ahead of the 2024 Japan Open tournament.

The players made the most of the training in the arena that will be the venue for the tournament which will take place on August 20-25.

“Today’s training went well. I was able to try out the field. Adaptation to the field conditions and the shuttlecocks was okay. I feel like there are no more obstacles. There are no problems with the wind, lighting settings, and shuttlecocks. All that’s left is to compete,” said one of the Indonesian badminton athletes, Muhammad Rian Ardianto in his statement.

Another athlete, Daniel Marthin, said the training at Yokohama Arena was done to restore condition after traveling and also to adapt to field conditions.

“I used the training at Yokohama Arena to practice my strokes and game. Also to find out the wind direction, where the lights are and how fast the shuttlecock is. Everything is ready, now I just have to face the match,” said Daniel.

A similar voice came from men’s singles player Anthony Sinisuka Ginting who even admitted that he was immediately able to adapt to the field conditions.
