Vijay Sethupathi won Best Actor at the Indo-French International Film Festival. Vijay Sethupathi was selected as the best actor for his performance in the film ‘Mamanitan’. ‘Mamanitan’ also won the best film award. Sethupathi played the role of Radhakrishnan, an auto driver who lives for his family. The film was released on June 24. Written and directed by Seenu Ramaswamy, the film is produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Studio 9 under the banner of YSR Productions. Gayathri is the heroine in the film which is set in a rural setting. This is the eighth film in which the two have teamed up.
Guru Somasundaram and late actress KPAC Lalitha have played other important roles in the film. Manasvi, the child star of Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Imaika Nodikali’, is also playing an important role in Mamanithan.
