France 24 tells you the story of those on the front line facing climate change. From Kenya to Panama, via Greenland and Australia, our reporters James André and Achraf Abid went to meet indigenous peoples who live in harmony with nature and see their daily lives disrupted by global warming. A series of four major reports. First episode: Kenya.

March 2023. In Kenya, the Turkanas are still waiting for rain, for five long years. These nomadic shepherds live in the arid lands of the northwest of this East African country. For centuries, their lives have usually been punctuated by the alternation of the dry season and the rainy season. But the water no longer comes, leaving the earth parched.

The lack of pasture decimated the Turkana livestock, causing famine and death. For those who have lost everything, there is only one solution: turn to fishing in the immense salt lake which borders their land.
