Indicted for rape, Pierre-Charles Boudot, star jockey, suspended for another six months from competition

Information regarding him was expected since the extension of his suspension, announced on August 13, was coming to an end. And nothing works out for Pierre-Charles Boudot. Indicted by the prosecution of Senlis (Oise) for rape last May for facts which allegedly took place in Cagnes-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes) on the night of February 17 to 18, 2021, the 29-year-old star jockey still won’t be able to race. Initiated on May 12, his suspension was once once more extended by France Galop as announced by the organizing company of the flat horse events.

“After studying the case, the France Galop Commissioners found that the criminal and judicial control situation of jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot is unchanged on February 11, 2022. Consequently, they have, as a precaution, renewed the suspension of his authorization to ride as a jockey from February 16, 2022, for a period of 6 months; specifying that the measure might be lifted before its term or renewed in the light of the elements brought to their attention, ”the press release indicates.

Winner of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

While specifying that: “the Commissioners of France Galop take note once once more of the voluntary and repeated withdrawal of Pierre-Charles Boudot who intends to abstain himself from the exercise of his profession in order to devote himself to his defense … France Galop emphasizes that the adoption of this precautionary measure does not call into question the presumption of innocence of the person concerned. »

Recall that the native of Paray-le-Monial (Saône-et-Loire), winner of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, double winner of the Prix de Diane or even Cravache d’or 2020, had been placed in police custody on May 10 following the complaint of a training rider explaining that she had been raped by the jockey, in Cagnes-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes).
