Mumbai: A huge setback for India as it prepares for the Test series once morest South Africa. Pacer Mohammad Shami will miss the Test series due to injury. Shami is not going to South Africa as the injury has not healed.
Deepak Chahar, who was part of the ODI squad, has also withdrawn. The reason for the star’s withdrawal is the issue related to the treatment of a close family member. Deepak was replaced by Akash Deep in the team.
Shami was humbled by a foot injury. The absence of Shami, who bowled in brilliant form in the World Cup, is a big loss for India.
Shami also has the best record on African soil. Shami took 35 wickets in eight Tests on African soil.
BCCI has not announced Shami’s replacement yet. But he may find a place as the third pacer in the famous Krishna team which is currently in South Africa with the India A team.
