India’s Press Freedom Ranking: A Critical Look at its 161st Position Compared to Neighboring Countries and Global Leaders

India is ranked 161st in the world press freedom ranking shared by World of Statistics. Neighboring countries Pakistan is 150th and Afghanistan 152nd.

Norway tops the list. Ireland is second, Denmark is third. Sweden (4th), Finland (5th), Netherlands (6th), Lithuania (7th), Estonia (8th) and Portugal (9th) are the other countries in the first position. Other countries are France (24), UK (26), USA (45), Japan (68), Israel (97), Russia (164), Turkey (165), China (179) and North Korea (180).
