India’s Historic Performance at the Asian Games 2021: Breaking Records with 107 Medals

The curtain fell on the Asian Games today. India returned from China because of history. Thalayurthi is back with the best ever medal chase in Asian Games history. India’s total medal tally rose to 107, crossing the 100-medal mark for the first time in its history. India won 28 gold, 38 silver and 41 bronze medals.

Although the Asian Games officially kicked off yesterday, India’s competitions were all over by Saturday itself. India won six gold medals on the final day. In women’s archery, Jyoti Surekha won gold for India in the individual category. Ojas Praveen also won gold in men’s category. India had won gold in the men’s and women’s categories of the Asian Games Kabaddi. With Sathwik-Chiraga team winning gold in Badminton and Cricket as well, India gave its best ever performance in this year’s Asian Games.

India’s best performance so far was at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games when India won a total of 70 medals. It included 16 gold, 23 silver and 31 bronze. India will return home with this achievement as a legend.
China topped the list with a total of 383 medals including 201 gold, 111 silver and 71 bronze. Japan finished in second place. Japan has a total of 188 medals including 52 gold, 67 silver and 69 bronze. Korea is third with a total of 190 medals with 42 gold, 59 silver and 89 bronze.
