India’s Gautam Adani overtakes Bezos for second place in Bloomberg Billionaires Ranking

Indian businessman Gautam Adani ranked second in the ranking Bloomberg Billionaires Index. His fortune is estimated at $ 147 billion, since the beginning of the year it has almost doubled – by $ 70 billion. He has overtaken Jeff Bezos ($ 147 billion), but is far behind the leader Elon Musk ($ 267 billion).

In the ranking Forbes the Indian billionaire is in third place with $152 billion, which is also more than Mr. Bezos, who is in fourth place ($147 billion). Elon Musk ($237 billion) and Bernard Arnault ($155 billion) are ranked first and second by Forbes.

According to Bloomberg, at the beginning of the year, Mr. Adani was ranked 14th in the rating. Shares in his large company Adani Enterprises Ltd. rose to a record high this week. In addition, the shares of some of his companies have risen more than 1000% since 2020. Mr. Adani became the first representative of Asia to achieve such positions in the ranking.

Gautam Adani is 60 years old. His companies are engaged in sea and air transportation, gas supply to cities, coal mining. Now his conglomerate wants to become the world’s largest producer of renewable energy.
