Mumbai: Malayalam player Minnumani made her debut as the captain of the Indian women’s cricket A team. India A team defeated England A team by three runs in the first match of the Twenty20 series. India, who batted first, scored 134 runs for the loss of seven wickets, while England, who batted in reply, might only score 131 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Kashwi Gautam took the wicket of Serine Smail (31 from 32 balls) in the next over. Then England was humiliated by losing wickets continuously. Kashvi Gautam and Shreyanka Patil took two wickets each. Minnu Mani, Mannath Kashyap and P. Naik took one wicket each.

The match was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The next two matches of the three-match Twenty20 series are on December 1 and 3.
