Indian women cricketer robbed in England Wicket keeper-batter Tania Bhatia has revealed through social media that she was robbed while staying at a hotel allocated for the team in London during the tour of England. Tania was part of the Indian team for the Twenty20 and ODI series between September 10 and 24.
Tania shared her bad experience in two tweets. The Indian team stayed at the Marriott Hotel in London. The actor says “someone” broke into his room and stole things — from money to jewelry. In a tweet, Tania criticizes the English Cricket Board for not providing better security for the Indian team.
“Shocked and disappointed with Marriott Hotel London management; during my recent stay as part of the Indian women’s cricket team, someone entered my private room and stole my bag containing cash, cards, watches and jewellery.
“Expecting a speedy investigation and resolution in this matter. The lack of security at the hotel chosen by the English Cricket Board is appalling. Hope they also look into it,” Tania added. Meanwhile, the England Cricket Board has not yet responded on the issue.
2/2 Hoping for a quick investigation and resolution of this matter. Such lack of security at @ECB_cricket‘s preferred hotel partner is astounding. Hope they will take cognisance as well.@Marriott @BCCIWomen @BCCI
