It is reported that Spotify failed to sign a new contract with the rights owners of several Bollywood songs after the old contract expired.
According to the British Broadcasting Corporation BBC The movie Several popular songs like Baji Rao Mastani’s song ‘Malhari’ and the song ‘Kaala Chashma’ from the film Baar Baar Dekho have been removed from the platform.

A fan wrote that ‘What if you don’t get rights? Spotify You couldn’t have given us a week’s notice before suddenly removing Bollywood songs and destroying our playlist?’

Another fan said in his tweet that ‘I request Spotify to renew the contract with whoever they have to bring back Bollywood songs. I’m really mad. One fan wrote: ‘When will Spotify bring back all the Bollywood songs because I’m dying.’
Many say they’re close to ditching their Spotify subscriptions and ‘switching to Apple Music’.
I will go Bollywood is the only way to keep me connected with my homeland.’
One fan wrote: ‘Just decided, I’m moving to Apple Music. I can’t believe spotify removed all bollywood songs. I’m crying.’
