Former Pakistan superstar Mohammad Amir has revealed that he wants to play in the Indian Premier League next year. Aamir said that he will get British citizenship soon and with this he will be able to play in IPL.

“First of all, I will not play for England. I played for Pakistan. Secondly talking regarding IPL it is still a year away. What will be the situation at that time… I always say to go step by step. We never know what will happen tomorrow.
I think regarding playing IPL in 2024. I don’t even know where I’ll be a year from now. No one can tell anything regarding the future. When I get my passport… whatever the best opportunity is, I will make the most of what I get,’ Aamir said.

In the first season of IPL, Pakistani players including Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi played for many teams. It is only following 2008 that BCCI decides to keep the Pakistani players out.
