Indian Motorcycle, America’s first motorcycle company, launched its most aggressive take on the iconic Indian Chief today with the launch of the Sport Chief.
Building on one of the most storied and influential motorcycle namesakes of all time, the 2023 Sport Chief raises the bar for American V-Twin performance cruisers through premium performance-oriented components and timeless American styling.

When designing the Sport Chief, Indian Motorcycle focused on performance by utilizing the best components from proven brands. With KYB inverted front forks, also featured on Indian Challenger models, Sport Chief offers superior handling and performance.
The Sport Chief’s radial-mount, dual-disc, four-piston, semi-floating-caliper Brembo® brakes deliver confidence-inspiring stopping power, while rear FOX piggyback shocks increase travel to four inches and increase lean angle to 29.5 degrees. , compared to other Indian chief models.
The result is an Indian Chief that calls for a more aggressive ride and provides the confidence and capability to take the driving experience to another level.

With a simple steel tube frame, the Sport Chief retains the mechanical styling of the Indian Chief.
At the heart of it all, a blacked-out Thunderstroke 116 engine delivers 120 pound-feet of torque, while sleek new Quarter Fairing, along with new moto-style bars with machined triple clamps and six-inch risers set the Sport Chief apart. from the rest of the Indian Chief lineup.
With mid-mounted foot controls and a solo gunslinger seat, passengers are in an imposing yet comfortable driving position.
Sport Chief features cast sport wheels wrapped in Pirelli Night Dragon tires, a four-gallon fuel tank, sloping rear fenders, dual exhaust, LED lighting, keyless ignition, and three selectable drive modes, including Sport, Standard, and Tour.
Ride enhancement technology comes standard with Indian Motorcycle’s class-leading four-inch touchscreen with RIDE COMMAND technology.
Accessible via handlebar controls or the digital touchscreen, riders can navigate through multiple interfaces, including two different gauge setups, bike and ride information, and turn-by-turn navigation with connected features like weather overlays and traffic.
Using a wireless helmet communicator, passengers can control their music within the RIDE COMMAND system once their phone is paired via Bluetooth or USB.
Riders can also access phone information, including recent calls, contacts, number pad, and text message history.
When connected, incoming calls will be displayed and can be accepted or rejected directly through the RIDE COMMAND system.
