Budapest: The Indian men’s relay team, which created a new history by finishing with an Asian record in the Lok Athletic Championship heat, was disappointed in the final. Finished fifth in the 4x400m final. The gold went to America who finished in 2 minutes 57.31 seconds. France (2.58.45) won the silver and Britain (2.58.71) the bronze.
India finished fifth in two minutes 59.92 seconds. Jamaica is fourth.
The Indian team consisting of three Malayalis ran in two minutes 59.05 seconds in the heat. The heat was also the best performance in the history of the Indian relay team.
