The forensic medical examination will clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of Dalvir Singh, a 54-year-old Indian worker, who was found dead on Friday afternoon in the field of a forestry farm where he was employed as a labourer.
The emergency medical responders who intervened had hypothesized that the man had been taken ill, and therefore died of natural causes, not determined by external factors, and at the same time subsequent checks had revealed that the foreigner was employed with an employment contract, in addition to being in compliance with the residence permit. In any case, since this was a tragedy that occurred at work, the deputy prosecutor on duty ordered a series of checks necessary to dispel doubts about the responsibilities of the case. Checks carried out jointly by the Carabinieri of the Borgo Podgora station command and the inspectors of the Workplace Prevention and Safety Service of the Prevention Department.
The alarm was raised by the employer, who found the lifeless body of the worker lying in the field. The farmer told rescuers and investigators that the victim had to go to the farm at 4:30 pm with the sole task of activating the irrigation system, so if this version were confirmed, a link between work activity and the illness seems to be excluded. The most accredited hypothesis is that of a previous pathology, perhaps cardiac, of which the foreigner was unaware. The forensic medical examination will be useful to clarify doubts about these circumstances.
