Dallas: The Friends of Dallas Cricket Team congratulated the Indian cricketers who achieved historic achievements in the first semi-final match of the World Cup Cricket Tournament. Tony Alexander, the chairman of the committee specially formed to determine the chances of winning the World Cup cricket matches, conveyed the greeting message prepared for the Indian cricket team via email.
Many new records were written and added in the first semi-final match between New Zealand and India. Indian team batsman Virat Kohli became the first player to complete 50 centuries in ODI matches. Kohli surpassed former Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries. Virat Kohli also became the first player to score more than 700 runs in World Cup matches. Virat Kohli told the fans following the match that “I have a goal to win my team beyond records”.
Another record is held by Indian bowler Mohammad Shami. Shammi, who came into the Indian team as a substitute and became one of the starting 11 players, became the first Indian bowler to take 50 wickets in the World Cup. Mohammad Shammi also added the honor of being the Indian bowler who took 7 wickets in knockout matches in the World Cup.
Committee members Renee Mathew and Stan Sam said that the records achieved by Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami will be an inspiration to budding cricketers in the cities of Dallas/Fort Worth. Chairman of the committee, Tony Alexander, said that special facilities have been arranged for Friends of Dallas cricket team players and family members to watch the final match once morest India on Sunday.
