Australia won the sixth world title by defeating India by six wickets in the ICC ODI World Cup. India advanced to the final by winning eleven consecutive matches. The loss to Australia in the final was a huge disappointment for the Indian players and fans.

Australian batter Travis Head’s wife and child have been threatened by fans. On social media, fans would post abusive comments including gang-rape threats under photos of Head with his wife and child.

Fans also turned once morest Vini Raman, the Indian-origin wife of Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. But Vini Raman came up with a post on social media in response to this. Vinnie was posting Maxwell’s photo. The caption of the post read, “What’s wrong with supporting your husband’s team?”

Australian batsman Travis Head scored a century in the final. Head scored 137 runs off 120 balls. Aussies won their sixth world title on the strength of Head’s smashing innings.

India were bowled out for 240 runs when Mitchell Starc took three wickets and Pat Cummins Hazelwood took two wickets in the Aussie bowling line-up.

In the Indian batting line-up, Rohit Sharma scored 47 runs, Virat Kohli scored 54 runs and KL Rahul scored 66 runs. In response, Australia overcame the target with six wickets remaining in 43 overs.

India-Australia will play a five-match T20I series from November 23.
