Fans also turned against Vini Raman, the Indian-origin wife of Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. But Vini Raman came up with a post on social media in response to this. Vinnie was posting Maxwell’s photo. The caption of the post read, “What’s wrong with supporting your husband’s team?”
Australian batsman Travis Head scored a century in the final. Head scored 137 runs off 120 balls. Aussies won their sixth world title on the strength of Head’s smashing innings.
India were bowled out for 240 runs when Mitchell Starc took three wickets and Pat Cummins Hazelwood took two wickets in the Aussie bowling line-up.
In the Indian batting line-up, Rohit Sharma scored 47 runs, Virat Kohli scored 54 runs and KL Rahul scored 66 runs. In response, Australia overcame the target with six wickets remaining in 43 overs.
India-Australia will play a five-match T20I series from November 23.
