Indian OTA MakeMyTrip has signed a partnership with Microsoft to offer artificial intelligence-assisted search through voice chat.

The functionality offered by MakeMyTrip allows the user to dialogue aloud with an artificial intelligence in order to obtain personalized travel recommendations among thousands of options. Results are determined by preference and will vary depending on budget, activity preferences, time of travel, etc. It also makes it possible to obtain a summary of the comments on the hotels according to the profile of the Internet user: single traveler, business traveler, couple, family, etc.

At the moment, the feature is available in beta in English and Hindi language for flights and stays. Eventually, the Indian company would like to offer it for other transport offers. It was developed in partnership with Microsoft and works thanks to the GPT technology of Azure OpenAI Service. For the technology company, this kind of functionality will allow “to make travel more inclusive and accessible to travelers across India, putting trust and safety at the heart of concerns”.

A feature reminiscent of the rise of smart speakers a few years ago, which also allowed you to have a conversation with an AI for help in your travel research.
