New Delhi: Indian players have made gains in the rankings released by BWF, an international badminton organization. In the men’s singles ranking, the Malayali star HS Prannoy has reached the ninth position. The player improved by one position and reached the ninth rank.
In the recently concluded Japan Open Super 750 series, Prannoy reached the quarters. Another star of India, Lakshya Sen, is ranked 11th. Lakshya improved by two places to reach the 11th position. The star also performed well in the Japan Open. Lakshya also managed to advance to the semi-finals.
Former world number one Kidambi Srikanth is ranked 19th. PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist for India, is ranked 17th in women’s singles. In the men’s doubles, India’s Satwik-Chirag pairing continues to rank second. In women’s doubles, India’s Trisa-Gayatri combination is ranked 17th.
