New Delhi: In the latest ranking of the Badminton World Federation, Indian men’s player H.S. Pranoy. Prannoy, who is a Malayali, has got the 7th position in the world ranking. This is the first time in his career that he has reached such a high ranking. The star has improved two places from the previous ranking and reached the seventh position. 66,147 points accumulated from the last 17 tournaments are behind Prannoy’s jump. Prannoy also holds the highest rank among India’s male and female players.
Women’s singles player P.V. Sindhu is behind Prannoy among the Indian players. Commonwealth Games doubles bronze medalists Teresa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand have reached the 15th rank and India has also gained. The alliance was at the 13th position in the last ranking.
Among the men, Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth swapped ranks. In the new rankings, Sen is 22nd and Srikanth is 23rd. In men’s doubles, Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty dropped two places to seventh.
