India wins first medal in athletics at 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou Kiran Balian won bronze in women’s shot put. Kiran won bronze with a throw of 17.36 meters. Kiran won the bronze by getting the best distance in the third attempt. China’s Olympic gold medalist Lijiao Gong won the gold with a throw of 19.58m. China’s own Jiayuan Song won the silver (18.92m). Indian star Manpreet Kaur is fifth (16.25). With this, India’s medal tally has increased to 33.
