Peterson completed his half-century early on for South Africa, who resumed batting on the fourth day of the match at 101 for two. Peterson also scored a half-century in the first innings of the Test. Keegan Peterson, who went on to score a century this time, lost only one wicket. India ended the 2nd innings at 198 with Marco Johnson (4–36), Kagiso Rabada (3–53) and Lungi Ngidi (3–21) bowling enthusiastically.

Dew Elgar (30) and Keegan Peterson (48 not out) added 78 runs for the second wicket before the hosts started the second innings with a 212-run target. Bumrah dropped Elgar in the final over yesterday.
