India reacts to hit squad caught in Canada – World

India has said that it is waiting for details regarding the arrest of three Indians in connection with the murder case of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Niger in Canada. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in his reaction said that the three Indians arrested in the Niger murder case apparently belong to a gang. We are waiting to hear from the police.

In a statement, S Jaishankar said, “We will wait for the Canadian police to share information regarding the persons arrested.” S Jaishankar said that we have repeatedly conveyed our concern to the Canadian authorities that they have given freedom to the organized crime groups of Indian Punjab to operate on Canadian soil.

It should be remembered that the Canadian police arrested Kamal Preet Singh, Kiran Preet Singh and Kiran Brar on Friday in connection with the murder of pro-Khalistan Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Niger last year in British Columbia, Canada. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said that the three accused lived in Edmonton, Alberta and were taken into custody there.

RCMP Superintendent Mandeep Mooker told a press conference that we are investigating whether these three accused are related to the Indian government. According to court records, the three arrested accused have been charged with murder and conspiracy to murder. All three have been in Canada for three to five years. Assistant Commissioner David Tabol has said that the investigation is going on at different levels and apart from the three accused, the investigation is being done on different aspects.

The investigating officers say that some other persons may also be involved in the murder of Hardeep Singh Niger. More arrests and indictments are not out of the question.
