[ニューデリー 27日 ロイター] – Indian police said China is building up its military infrastructure in the disputed northern Ladakh region, citing an increase in clashes between the two militaries.
Archyde.com has obtained a confidential investigation report submitted by the Ladakh police to a police chiefs’ meeting on April 20-22.
“Given China’s domestic situation and economic interests in the region, the People’s Liberation Army will continue to build up its military infrastructure and skirmishes will be frequent,” he said.
“Analysis of the patterns of tensions and conflicts shows that they have increased in intensity every two to three years since 2013-14,” he said.
“The PLA is building massive infrastructure, and both sides are testing each other’s reactions, firepower, and infantry mobilization time,” he said.
In Ladakh, he pointed out that the buffer zone was pushing the border into Indian territory and that India was gradually losing ground.
At least 24 soldiers were killed in clashes between Indian and Chinese forces in Ladakh in the western Himalayas in 2020.
