INDI delivered public deed of 1,875 hectares to the indigenous community “Ebetogue”

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Paraguayan Indigenous Institute (INDI) officially delivered the public deed of 1,875 hectares of land located in the Mariscal Estigarribia district, Paraguayan Chaco, expropriated and transferred in favor of the Ebetogue indigenous community, belonging to the Ayoreo ethnic group.

The delivery of this document is a fundamental step towards the legal security of the community, since it guarantees its rights over the land expropriated in its favor, until the definitive titling process is concluded.

The leader of the Community, Basui Picanerai, expressed his gratitude to the Paraguayan Indigenous Institute for this significant advance in securing the land for his people.

This event is a demonstration of the commitment of INDI and its president, Juan Ramón Benegas, to defend and promote the rights of the country’s indigenous communities.

The INDI, through its president and the directors who have carried out the efforts to achieve this goal, reaffirms its mission to protect and strengthen the territorial rights of indigenous peoples, promoting their integral development and respecting their cultures and traditions.
