It has been officially announced that former heavyweight world champion boxer Mike Tyson and YouTuber, i.e. video content producer Jake Paul, who has recently become known for his sports successes, will enter the ring this July. The match between the two celebrities has been rumored for some time, and now the dream of many fans has come true: they will compete in the ring. Tyson, 57, and Paul, 27, will go head-to-head on July 20, and the match will be broadcast live on Netflix.
The venue will be AT&T Stadium in Dallas, so the organizers can expect tens of thousands of people to attend.
By the way, Tyson shared the news quite narrowly, and based on his post, it can be suspected that the income is more important to him than the sporting value, since he only wrote on his Instagram page: “we signed the contract”.
Paul became known as an Internet content producer, but a few years ago he switched to professional sports, and so far he has been able to show very convincing results in boxing. He won nine of his ten fights, six of them by knockout, losing only to Tommy Fury.
A Variety according to his article, by the way, Tyson spoke highly of Paul, as he said, he follows his career, and in his opinion, the “kid” has improved a lot. As he said: he is looking forward to the match. Incidentally, this is Netflix’s second big launch in the field of sports since the tennis match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. The streaming provider is increasingly actively trying to enter the sports market as well.
