Index – Sport – Péter Schumann has died

Péter Schumann, who was a member of the Újpest football team from 1975 to 1980, in which he played in 72 league matches and scored eight goals, died at the age of 70. Friday “we talked one more time in the afternoon, he was in a good mood, I was at his place the day before yesterday, he was fooling around like always” – written by Danube Ede.

Dunai later added that when they last spoke, Péter Schumann exceptionally asked him not to take him to the match,

because it’s a late start and tomorrow you can see your granddaughter for the first time. He wanted to rest.

Péter Schumann became Hungarian champion three times and silver medalist twice with Újpest. Vác signed him in 1980, and then he played football in Tatabánya. In their last match, Tatabánya defeated Bp. Honvéd 4-0.
