Attila Till, on the other hand, was completely surprised by the task, since he had completely put down the glass eight years ago and since then he had not drunk a sip of alcohol.
I don’t drink because I had a problem with alcohol. You can have many kinds of addictions, mine was a kind of problem with alcohol that ended up admitting that I was an alcoholic. I stopped all of this because I felt that I could not live like this: the solution in my life is to break up with this whole thing. If you are an addict and you push your addiction away, you need to know that it is always there, it can come back at any time. This is a lifelong struggle. There is no such thing as calming down, because if you say “oh, I can drink now”, you are fooling yourself. You’ll relapse after a week, that’s what happens. That’s why you can’t drink even a drop of alcohol, it’s better if this monster is far away.
András Stohl initially suggested to his companion that he simply pretend to drink from it, but Tilla said that he did not dare to spit out the drink out of disrespect, so he instead turned it down.
