In one of the most watched programs of last year, the Star boxcelebrities will soon be in the ring again. In 2024, the multi-round competition series will be expanded to include more weight categories, so this year there will be a lightweight category for men as well, and for women, the parties will measure themselves in two categories.
The competitors have been preparing for the battles for months under the guidance of the professional supervisor of Sztárbox, István Kokó Kovács. The return of the show is by no means surprising, since according to the channel’s statement last year
RTL’S MOST SUCCESSFUL SHOW WAS SZTÁRBOX IN 2023, 6 OF WHICH EPISODES WERE INTO THE NATIONAL TOP 10 LIST.
After last season, in 2024, eight female competitors will compete against each other in the Sztárbox. However, there is an important innovation: this year, the field is divided into two parts, with four each fighting for the championship title in featherweight and lightweight.

The competitors were given professional status
The atmosphere of the broadcasts is enhanced by the already well-known host trio, Adél Csobot, Zoltán Szujó and Barna Héder, as well as the ringspeaker András Both, while István Kokó Kovács sits in the expert commentary chair. The social content of Sztárbox will this time be provided by Roland Szépréti, who became known for the guerrilla content of Mobilfox.
There was no question that there would be a Starbox this year as well. This year, the fight will start on the first of September, this time there will be more weight groups in the men’s and women’s field. Even now, many people wanted to take part in the show, as they saw that it was a serious, real sporting achievement. And of course, the fantastic atmosphere returns. I don’t often go to competitions, but I will never forget what I experienced there last year
Péter Kolosi, the channel’s deputy general manager responsible for content, announced in his video message.
István Kovács also explained the rules, the men’s field will feature four 2-minute bouts, while the women’s bout will last four and a half minutes. In the women’s field, the use of head protection is also mandatory this time.
In addition, the competitors receive professional boxer status according to the decision of the domestic federation.
One of the big questions before the event was, of course, when the first matches will be held, but the speculations about who will replace Joci Pápai, who retired from Stárbox on Monday due to a shoulder injury, have also ended.

Two gala matches are also on the program
Tuesday’s press conference was given a special piquancy by the fact that, in addition to the main actors, István Kovács, Sándor Bárdosi, Pityu Bunyós and last year’s champion Áron Molnár also appeared, and this time the latter was able to face Fecsó Szegedi, who was messaging him on social media and initiated a boxing match, and who also entered the ring last year. .
And their appearance was quickly revealed, as two gala matches will be organized within the framework of the Sztárbox, in the first match Attila Árpa and the wrestler Sándor Bárdosi will clash, after a battle of words arose between the two after Bárdosi said about the actor that he certainly wouldn’t have let Árpa pass last year.
The other clash was quite self-explanatory after hearing this, because both Áron Molnár and Fecsó Szegedi will settle their differences in a gala match outside of competition – even if they did not box in the same weight group last year.
At the press conference, after a long explanation of the rules, it was also revealed that
Joci Pápai is replaced by Ibbigang singer-rapper Valter Szecsei in the show.
But who will clash with whom and when will the first clash take place? Index also took part in the show’s press conference on Tuesday – so now all this is revealed.
