The president of the Democratic Coalition called what happened unworthy, while the president of the Tisza Party encouraged the government politician to be modest.
Criticism of the Fidesz EP representative did not go unanswered for long. On Tuesday, Tamás Deutsch also shared on his Facebook page the recording of him traveling on the Golden Machine together with the Olympians.
It is an honor to be able to work for the success of the Hungarian Team as the vice-president of the Hungarian Olympic Committee for the last 15 years.

As we wrote, the Fidesz EP representative was not allowed to accompany the Olympic team because of his political position. Tamás Deutsch holds several positions related to sports, including
- of the National Federation of Sports Associations its president;
- of the Circle of Hungarian Bodybuilders (MTK) its president,
- the Hungarian Paralympic Committee vice president,
- and the Hungarian Olympic Committee vice president.
