The 46-year-old BBC presenter has been diagnosed with cancer. Lauren Laverne said that fortunately the change was noticed at an early stage, however, it is not possible to know what type of tumor attacked her body, wrote the The Sun. Lauren made the bold announcement in an Instagram post.

I was recently diagnosed with cancer. Thank goodness it was caught early during a screening test, so I’m expected to make a full recovery. I am currently in hospital and I would like to take this moment to thank the medical team who treat me with incredible dedication and kindness, and my family and friends who have been by my side the whole time. I am very grateful and I love you all very much

Lauren said, and then thanked her colleagues.

Lauren became famous in the 90s as the singer and guitarist of the rock band Kenickie. The band consisted of Lauren, her brother Pete aka Johnny X, Marie du Santiago and Emmy-Kate Montrose.
