American actor Kenneth Mitchell, who most people knew from the Star Trek: Discovery series, has died. The actor has been fighting a serious disease called ALS for five years. He was 49 years old.
The news of the death of Kenneth Mitchell, who died on Saturday, was shared by his family on X. “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend,” the post quotes the People.
Mitchell, who was born on November 24, 1974 in Toronto, was the father of two children. Mitchell was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) in 2018 and was confined to a wheelchair the following year.
In an earlier interview with People, Mitchell publicly announced that she had been diagnosed with ALS in 2020. “The moment they told us, it was like being in my own movie,” the actor said. “It felt like watching a scene where someone is told they have a terminal illness. I was simply in complete disbelief, shock,” he said at the time.
The actor played Kol in the series Star Trek: Discovery, which ran from 2017 to 2018, but also appeared in smaller roles in several other series and a few films. Among other things, we saw it

Mitchell is survived by his wife Susan and children Lilah and Kallum. The family requests that all donations be made to ALS research or to benefit her children.
