Shortly after take-off, the Wednesday morning flight of the British Airways airline between London and Budapest turned back and landed, MTI reported.
The company’s flight number BA 866 – an Airbus A319 aircraft – took off from London’s Heathrow Airport at 8:00 local time, about 35 minutes late, but after approximately a quarter of an hour’s flight and a few laps in the area of Dover, on the coast of Kent County in Southeast England then headed back to Heathrow.
According to the FlightRadar24 online flight tracking service, the plane turned back at an altitude of more than 8,000 meters and landed safely on the northern runway 09L of Heathrow Airport on the western border of London about 50 minutes after takeoff.
British Airways has not yet announced the reason for the flight’s reversal.
