(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Bae Jin-nam = Cristiano Ronaldo (37, Portugal), who became ‘invincible’ following contract termination with Manchester United (England), ‘trained alone’ at his former team, Real Madrid (Spain) and looking for a new team.

The British BBC reported on the 15th (Korean time), “After the Portuguese national team’s 2022 World Cup schedule in Qatar, Ronaldo is using Real Madrid’s training facilities to maintain his physical condition.”

Real Madrid is a team that Ronaldo played for Manchester United (Man United) and transferred to in 2009 and spent nine seasons.

The BBC reported that “Ronaldo did not rest following Portugal’s early exit from the World Cup and asked Real Madrid to use their training facilities to make it clear that he was ready to join his new team as soon as possible.”

However, he added that Ronaldo’s new team will not be Real Madrid.

Spanish media and Marca also reported, “There is no possibility that Ronaldo will renew his contract with Real Madrid.”

Ronaldo had a sniping interview with Manchester United’s executives and manager Eric Tenhag just before the opening of the World Cup in Qatar, and United terminated his contract.

In fact, Ronaldo, who was released, did not show much activity in the World Cup in Qatar, where he participated as an independent. Rather, he drew attention due to rumors of a feud with Portuguese national team coach Fernando Santos and his junior Bruno Fernands (Man United).

In the end, Ronaldo’s fifth and virtually final World Cup came to an end as Portugal lost 0-1 to Morocco in the quarterfinals.

Ronaldo is now waiting for the transfer window to open in January next year.

During the World Cup in Qatar, interest in Ronaldo is still ongoing, with reports that Al Nasr of Saudi Arabia offered Ronaldo an annual salary of 200 million euros (approximately 277 billion won) for a contract period of two and a half years.
