Now available in replay, a recent News Tank HR and HR Morning webinar with Indeed provided an update on this gap in the recruiter-candidate relationship. Thibault Maire, job market expert from Indeed France, analyzed a dedicated OpinionWay study.

The observation of non-alignment is obvious. On the one hand, employers emphasize the art and manner of communicate to recruit. On the other hand, the candidates are disappointed by the lack of transparency and sincerity of job offers.

In a context of strong tension which continues on the job market, Indeed conducted a study with OpinionWay in order to identify the causes of this gap in the recruiter-candidate relationship.

Thibault Maire, job market expert from Indeed Franceoutlined the main lessons from the survey during a webinar organized on 10/19/2023.

Here is the breakdown of the sequences:

Chapter 1: an observation: the lack of transparency in offers: a glaring reality; Chapter 2: a perception that has repercussions on the rest of the candidate journey; Chapter 3: the risk of ghosting: consequence of poor communication? Chapter 4: Persistent vagueness is unhealthy; Chapter 5: recommendations.

Thibault Maire particularly highlights the lack of transparency of advertisements felt by job seekers:

47% of respondents think that the advertisements posted do not include all the information and are incomplete; 25% of them think that recruiters tend to systematically embellish the position within the ad.

Remuneration, employee benefits, working hours…Recruiters and candidates encounter difficulties in addressing these essential subjects during the recruitment phase to start a collaboration in a calm manner.

Method

• OpinionWay survey carried out in June 2023 for Indeed;
• samples of 547 recruiters and 637 employees
