The Spanish police have arrested five people, uncovering a fraud involving Brad Pitt. The perpetrators pretending to be Hollywood star Brad Pitt on the internet, defrauded two women and took the sum of 325,000 euros from them.
Those arrested contacted the women on an online fan page of the Oscar-winning actor and led them to believe they “had an emotional relationship with him,” Spain’s Guardia Civil police said in a statement.
Posing as Pitt, the gang members then allegedly encouraged the women to invest in various projects that did not exist.
