He explained that the request for a raise by the workers is not a new demand, on the contrary they have been doing it for a long time, alleging that no important adjustments have been made for several decades. This situation might somehow be corrected following the increases that occurred since the 90s.
“The adjustments have been subject to successive studies through the National Minimum Wage Commission (Conasam), which has the power to make proposals and studies, which are also made up of representatives of workers and employers,” Recalde explained this Wednesday in an interview. with state media.
In this context, the minister mentioned a meeting scheduled for next week of Conasam, for the purposes of analyzing the variation rate of inflation accumulated in 12 months and the subsequent decision to readjust the base salary received by workers in the sector. private.
“Apart from that, a series of activities of the specified minimum wage are studied to establish these percentages that the Central Bank of Paraguay shows through the study of the minimum wage.
