Inflation invites itself into the traditional monthly changes. Many French people will thus see their social aid and wages indexed and therefore revalued on Sunday May 1.
Increase in minimum wage
As a few months ago, the amount of the Smic will increase from next month. Indexed to galloping inflation, it will climb to €1,302.64 net (€1,645.58 gross), and will therefore see an increase of 2.65% from this Sunday 1is May.
As a reminder, the minimum wage is the only one, with pensions, to be indexed to inflation.
Salary increase for some civil servants
Some civil servants will also see their minimum salary index, and therefore their salary, increase as of Sunday. The increase concerns category C state, hospital and territorial civil servants who should receive an additional €34 on their next payslip.
They will also benefit from a thaw in the index point which should occur this summer.
RSA, family allowances … Caf aid is also increasing
The annual revaluation of the month of April of aid from the Caf will be felt on the payments which will take place on May 5. RSA, family allowances, AAH or even activity bonus will benefit from an increase of 1.8% this month, higher than usual due to inflation.
SNCF now accepts holiday vouchers
From 1is May, the SNCF will allow travelers to pay for their journeys with their holiday vouchers. It will be possible to pay with the counter, but also on the new SNCF Connect application and on the site internet of the society.
Please note, however, it will not be possible to pay with holiday vouchers for home-to-work subscriptions, international travel and those relating only to Île-de-France.
Lower price of some cigarette packs
This change concerns smokers. From Sunday, the price of a pack of Lucky Strike Original red drops by 20 cents and therefore drops to 10 euros. Other models from the Lucky Strike brand will see a drop of 10 cents, as will Vogue L’Originale, Winfield, Peter Stuyvesant and Rothmans.
Conversely, several Winston-branded packets will be priced 10 cents higher.
