Europ Assistance, for its part, recorded the same number of “ski” medical files in the Alps this Christmas holiday as last year, it said on Friday.
Furthermore, the organization recorded a 2% increase in medical files opened in “sun destinations”. Most medical files in Europe were opened in Spain and its islands, including the Canaries (21%), France (11%) and Italy (3%). In distant destinations, 9% of medical files were opened in Thailand, 5% in Morocco and 3% in the United States.
In addition, between December 22, 2023 and January 4, the number of technical interventions by Europ Assistance abroad covering travel to and from ski resorts decreased by 4% compared to the same period of last year, while it increased by 3% towards “non-ski” destinations.
The VAB, for its part, recorded 10.3% more interventions than last year during the Christmas period. Most of them took place in Austria, Spain and France.
