The bill in question provides for a escalating, as specifically defined, increase in the birth allowance, based on the number of dependent children in the family, as it is formed following the birth of the child.
The retroactive payment of the increased birth allowance from January 1, 2023 is also foreseen. Legislative authorization is provided for the possibility of adjusting the amount of the above allowance.
With the proposed regulation, the birth allowance granted by the Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity Organization is increased.
More specifically, an increase of 400 euros is established for beneficiaries without dependent children before birth, escalating for each subsequent child and reaching the additional amount of 1,500 euros for beneficiaries with 3 or more dependent children before birth. Provision is made for the restructuring of the amount of the installments of the birth allowance to bring them into line with the increase in the birth allowance.
