The Camera adapter from Applewhich converts Lighting to USB 3.0, does not run on iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5, reports 9to5Mac.

The adapter has a USB-A connector and an additional Lightning connector for charging. After updating to iOS 16.5, users report that these two functions are not intact, as numerous comments in Apples Support-Foren and other platforms show.

With the accessories, not only cameras are connected. Users also establish the connection to Ethernet adapters and digital audio converters in this way.

A user reports: “I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and have been using the official Apple Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter for months… As soon as I updated to iOS 16.5 this morning, the adapter stopped communicating with the DAC and stopped charging my phone. “

Apple support currently has no solution, users write in the forums. It is conceivable that Apple will soon release a software patch to fix the problem.

Until then, users who rely on the adapter should not update to iOS 16.5 or iPadOS 16.5.
