Integration
“It was a very nice experience because it allowed us to share with friends from other towns and competing helps us develop as people. It was a great final with our fellow countrymen,” said Gustavo Salgado, a player from Club Grumete Cortés de Quirihue.
“This is very good for us seniors. We have had a great time. We are happy that these tournaments are held, they help us relax,” said Ellizabeth Vega, a bocce player from El Carmen.
“Our program encourages people with disabilities to play sports and be socially active,” said Pablo Leiva, coordinator of the Adaes Program.
“This is a sport that has grown a lot in our country. There are 300 teams in Chile and 24 in Ñuble, of which 12 have competed in this regional tournament. Investing in the adapted sport of boccia is a tremendous contribution to the development of people with disabilities who share in a friendly environment with competitors from other localities,” reflected Enzo Castro, experienced general referee of the discipline and table coordinator.
“The experience has been very good. We have been participating for three years and we really like it. The municipality continues to support us,” said Rita Viveros, a player from Pemuco.
At the awards ceremony, Councillor Yanina Contreras awarded and congratulated all the participants and stressed that “these events are important because they serve to ensure that everyone has access to sport and to the practice of various disciplines.”
