Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The UAE announced, on Monday, the easing of a number of restrictions related to the Corona virus, starting from Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
The official spokesman for the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, said during a briefing to the UAE government on the developments of the Corona virus, that the daily statistics of Covid-19 developments will be stopped, as a result of the decrease and stability in the number of cases.
Regarding the wearing of masks, it is still mandatory in medical facilities, mosques and public transportation, as well as food service providers and the injured and suspected cases.
While “wearing a mask has become optional for all facilities and other open and closed places”, according to Al Dhaheri, including educational facilities.
It was also decided to cancel the distance separator between worshipers. In addition to reducing the period of isolation of the injured to five days, whether the isolation is at home or institutional.
And airlines can specify optional or mandatory masks on board aircraft. At a time when the requirements for the examinations of those departing from the vaccinated and the non-vaccinated are related to the destination to be traveled to, as for those coming to the country, the current protocol applied is still in force for the vaccinated and non-vaccinated.
Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri said that “with regard to the green traffic system, it has been updated with the obligation to conduct a periodic examination every month for those vaccinated and exempt from vaccination requirements, and the obligation to conduct a periodic examination every seven days for those who have not received the vaccination.”
Al Dhaheri stressed that the green traffic system is still a mandatory condition for employees and visitors to enter the workplaces of the federal authorities, in addition to linking the green traffic system to workers in the tourism and economic sector.
