The committee charged with preparing the file to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which is scheduled to be organized in Morocco, Spain and Portugal, is moving towards submitting its report to FIFA for approval, given that the latter is the one who will ultimately decide on a group of matters.

According to what was reported by Al-Akhbar newspaper in its issue of Monday, April 15, FIFA is the one who decides on the stadiums that will host the matches, sponsors, team hotels, and training fields. It is also the one that evaluates and selects the candidates through a council composed of a body that includes… 37 members, including a president, eight vice presidents, and 28 other members make up the executive office.

The same source recorded that the Executive Office has actually agreed to grant Morocco, Spain and Portugal the hosting of the 2030 World Cup, but there are other matters that control this matter, the most important of which is approving the file and evaluating the offers, according to a series of criteria stipulated in the election regulations.

According to the same source, FIFA will intervene in the discussions and hold visits to the countries nominated to host the global football event, focusing on priority areas, such as the vision of the competition and key standards, including infrastructure, commercial services, sustainability, environment and human rights.

Al-Akhbar confirmed that FIFA also attaches great importance to the proposed stadiums and facilities for teams, referees, services, transportation, accommodation, security, health services, and information and communications technology.

The same source stressed that the federation will also discuss other matters related to the International Radio and Television Center and other sites that will broadcast events related to the competition, in addition to expectations of revenues and expenses related to organizing the World Cup.
