Include promotes Campus Kids with activities aimed at children and teenagers during Campus Party Goiás
Between June 7th and 11th, the 3rd edition of Campus Party Goiás takes place, the largest technological experience in the internet of things, blockchain, marker culture, education and entrepreneurship in the world. The edition will feature Campus Kids, a space supported by Include, a project by the Campus Party Institute, which will carry out various activities, lectures and programming workshops aimed at children and adolescents.
The Include program aims to introduce young people and teenagers from underprivileged communities to the digital environment, through the creation and assembly of robotics laboratories, enabling knowledge of new technologies and opening up opportunities for studies and the job market.
Campus Kids will be located in the Open Campus area, a space open to the public and free of charge at #CPGoiás3
Campus Kids will be in the Open area of #CPGoiás3, a space that is open to the public and free of charge and will operate between June 8th and 10th, from 10am to 8pm, with circulation until 9pm, and on Sunday, June 11th, between 10 am and 4 pm, with circulation until 5 pm. The workshops will be taught by Include teachers and volunteers.
“We are very happy to bring maker workshops to the population, free of charge, in the open area of Campus Party Goiás. Parents and children participate, create their first robot together and then take it home.
The action aims to show the public a little bit of the work that is developed daily in the Include laboratories throughout Brazil and bring children and young people closer to technology. For this, we have the collaboration of facilitators and monitors who work at the Include Laboratories in the state of Goiás, but also with teams from Rio de Janeiro and Brasília”, says the National Director of Include, Sidiane Zanin.
The Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of Goiás, José Frederico Lyra Netto, points out that the Include laboratories meet the mission of the Goiás government to open the doors of technology to children and adolescents. “Laboratories are sometimes the first contact and access for low-income people to technology and robotics. We will have a sample of this on Campus. We have high expectations in this idea that the actions of Include can inspire and awaken the interest of these children and young people in technologies.”
Among the highlights within the program are:
Workshop: 3D PROJECTOR – During the workshop participants will be able to learn regarding the fascinating science behind holograms, exploring the formation of three-dimensional images and the basics of projection and at the end, they will build their own 3D projector.
Workshop: INTERACTIVE PICTURE FRAME – In the workshop, participants will assemble an interactive picture frame. They will also learn basic concepts of electricity and electronic components.
Workshop: BUILD YOUR FROG ROBOT – In this workshop, participants will use reusable materials and basic concepts of electronic circuits and movement mechanics to assemble a frog robot. Ah, with a lot of creativity and imagination to customize it!
Workshop: INSETOBOT – The workshop is a fun crafting experience. Let’s explore the universe of robot insects and their functions. At the end, participants will have built their own InsetoBot, representing an insect from our Brazilian fauna.
