An accident occurred on Wednesday followingnoon in a cabin of the cable car connecting Laax to Crap Sogn Gion in Graubünden. The cab loads, obviously too heavy, touched the ground during the journey. A woman was slightly injured.
The driver immediately braked the cabin and a few passengers fell, including a woman who injured her finger. The passengers were then taken back to the valley to be picked up.
Ongoing investigation
Loads are regularly hooked to the cabin to be transported up the mountain. It was therefore a routine, said the press service. Apparently the load was too heavy this time and hit a hill three-quarters of the way up. The cabin was not damaged.
Officials reportedly immediately reported the incident to the Swiss Security Investigation Service (SESE). However, he had not received any report from Laax until Thursday morning, Sascha Kunz, head of investigations at SESE, told Keystone-ATS.
The Cantonal Police of Graubünden has confirmed the collaboration with the SESE. An investigation is underway.
